CHRISTMAS #4 0751: Here's the grand finale to our 2007 holiday celebration. As is our tradition we favor the old favorites this time - "Christmas Dragnet," "All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth," "The Pretty Little Dolly" - but there's also new holiday hilarity, including 2007's most-noticed new novelty Christmas release (The Dan Band), an all-new Bohemian Christmas Rhapsody (not the same one we heard last year), and Santa Claus appearing in the form of a cow (thanks to NorDakota's Mylo Hatzenbuhler). Several sought-after rarities in this show - "Blue Christmas" with Seymour Swine, "Here Comes Santa" by Victor Banana, "Merry Christmas You Suckers" by Paddy Roberts...and "Ding! Fries Are Done" (because we all grab fast food during the holiday crush...who has time to eat anything else?) **ALSO** Please send any comments (good or bad) regarding the improved sound quality on this week's and last week's shows to webmaster@drdemento.com Dec 9, 2007 [ Play List ] (Added Dec 10, 2007) |

CHRISTMAS/HANUKKAH #1 0748: Here we go with Number One of our four holiday specials for 2007. We've got songs for Hanukkah (and Chanukah too) and lots of thoroughly crazed Christmas carols, old and new. (We think "F**K Christmas," as edited by Dr. D., is even funnier than the unbleeped original). "Showdown At The North Pole" should arouse some interesting conversations...the conflict is Jesus vs. Santa Claus. *ALSO* This show is now in improved quality for both members and non-members! BODY PARTS 0741:Our topic this week is body parts...certain ones in particular, two feminine and one masculine.
Note the presence of "Penis Envy" by Uncle Bonsai, which we can't play on the radio since the FCC declared it to be obscene. (If you ask us, it's more morally uplifting than most of what you can hear on the radio these days). This show also contains notable forays into alcohol consumption and insanity.

GUITARS 0740:This week we celebrate the guitar. We wouldn't have rock 'n roll without the guitar. Did you realize that the guitar is one of our culture's true hermaphrodites? Its body is obviously, lasciviously feminine...but the neck is just as clearly phallic...just look at any hard rock guitarist on stage and that's so obvious. ALL-TIME Greats 0725 :Among the greatest novelty record artists of all time, Stan Freberg made his mark in the 1950s with devastating spoofs of rock 'n roll music. After that he moved on to other things, but fans have never stopped wishing Stan would use his comic genius to lampoon later pop music trends. Now, The Great Luke Ski, devoted hip-hop historian and a superb parodist in his own right, has created his own Freberg-style skewering of rap music in his ten-minute sketch called "MC Freberg."
This show also features a half hour of songs about God. No evangelism here, and no disrespect either...just one brilliant comedy song or sketch after another, each using the name of God in the title in its own way. Jun 24, 2007 [ Play List ] (Added Jun 25, 2007) |

Our subject this week is the blues...the demented blues. The funny blues. There's more of that than you might think...from such certifiably funny folks as "Weird Al" Yankovic, Henry Phillips, and Martin Mull...not to mention Screamin' Jay Hawkins.
Other highlights include a stack of songs about cloning (no, they aren't all alike) and "Snoopy Vs. The Red Baron" by the Royal Guardsmen, together with the Royal Guardsmen's new sequel, recorded forty years later! Jan 28, 2007 [ Play List ] (Added Jan 30, 2007) |

Just as surely as December leads into January, holiday feasting leads to dieting (at least for a lot of us!) This week's feature segments explore the ins and outs of dieting with comedic gems like "Too Fat Polka," "Weird Al" Yankovic's "Eat It" and "Fat" and 400-lb. actor Victor Buono's "Fat Man's Prayer." Also included: brand new songs by Worm Quartet and The Four Postmen, and the grand finale for Mr. Whitekeys and the Fabulous Spamtones. Jan 21, 2007 [ Play List ] (Added Jan 22, 2007) |

BEGINNING 2007 0701:And here we go again with the first Funny Five of 2007 (including "The Smoke-Off" and "The Devil Went To Jamaica"!) On this show we also remember the late Charlie Drake, plus 1960s TV animation heroes Joe Barbera and Chris Hayward...and the brilliant Logan Whitehurst ("The Robot Cat") who died at age 29 in December. The show features a half-hour of Logan's music including several rarities and interview excerpts. Jan 7, 2007 [ Play List ] (Added Jan 8, 2007) |
