YOU 1219: We celebrate you this week - more than 20 songs with "you" in the title. We also tip our demented hat to Mother, and say farewell to George "Goober" Lindsey with some rare items. This show is rated PG-13 - one s-word (on the uncensored "Life Sucks - Then You Die," on the show for the first time), and some sexual references. The bonus track by Tim Minchin is for open-minded adults only! May 12, 2012

In the first hour, some amazing and provocative songs about religion and politics, among other things. Language alert: the highly irreverent song from The Book of Mormon in the first hour, and "Beer" by the Asylum Street Spankers in the second. Apr 21, 2012

REPTILES & AMPHIBIANS 1209: Lots more songs about reptiles and amphibians in this week's sequel to our October 8, 2011 show. No duplicates with that show! Also a farewell to Davy Jones, and an update on the Chardon Polka Band (founded eight years ago by students at the school that was the scene of last week's tragic shooting). And - for our D.O.C. listeners - the world premiere of the new, authentic full stereo mix of Tom Lehrer's "Poisoning Pigeons in the Park" (Orchestral Version). PARTY RECORDS 1207: In the second part of this show, Dr. Demento tells the fascinating story of "party records" - risqué and titillating tunes and tales that were released by mostly independent labels from the 1930s to the 1960s (major labels wouldn't touch them). Most of these were never heard on radio when first released. Parental note: most of these are totally concerned with sex and other bodily processes, but the f-word is heard only on the bonus track, which also has the n-word. Feb 18, 2012

POSSESSIONS 1202: This show is all about possessions. Having things. "I have," "I got," "My...." and so on. These words and phrases have a great many different shades of meaning. We'll explore those shades and hear a whole lot of fun and exciting songs along the way. Also: new ones by Flat 29 ("Manfriends," a wonderful song) and Lemon Demon (he thinks it might be stupid, but I like it...coupla durty wirds in this one, also "I Have a Clone")...and a stack of requests. SPIKE JONES CENTENNIAL 1201: Dr. Demento salutes the Spike Jones centennial with over an hour of Spike's hits and rarities, tracing his career and featuring key members of the City Slickers. Other highlights include "2012: The Musical," "Call Any Vegetable," and "The Wilted Lettuce Orgy." A few scattered 4-letter words in the first hour; the Spike celebration is good clean fun.
