THANKSGIVING 06: Eat, darling, Eat! Once again it's Thanksgiving time on the Dr Demento show, with a half hour of songs for our most over-nutritious holiday. Adam Sandler, Benny Bell and Stan Freberg are among those presenting comedic toasts this time around. Other highlights include "Lydia, the Tattooed Lady" by Groucho Marx, a rare Mel Blanc track, and Eric Schwartz's trenchant tribute to our past and present Presidents, "Clinton Got a B***job". THANKSGIVING 0746: We celebrate Thanksgiving with songs and comedy about the Pilgrims, family reunions, and food....lots and lots of food. We also have a tribute to our dear friend Earl Bennett, who portrayed "Sir Frederic Gas" with Spike Jones' City Slickers; Earl passed away on October 4. And don't miss Sudden Death's take on modern day horror films, "Blood, Guts and Boobs." Nov 18, 2007

THANKSGIVING 0947: Here's our Happy Thanksgiving show for 2009. We celebrate the consumption of turkey and other festive foods...but we also remember that other meaning of the word "turkey" to denote a movie, play or song that is extremely bad. To that end, we bring back this week the Audio Torture Chamber, a feature some listeners might remember from the 1980s. We visit the Chamber at the end of each segment (except the last one). Notable among the bonus tracks is "Turkish Delight," a 1932 British comedy record spoofing the cultural traditions of Baghdad and other Middle Eastern localities. (Warning: politically incorrect). THANKSGIVING 1047: Here's our show for Thanksgiving 2010. We celebrate turkeys - the edible kind and the musical kind. Also on the menu are more songs about food, and a new song by the exceedingly eminent Mr. Stan Freberg and his wife Hunter. Some naughty words here and there ("Beer Nuts," "Have a Wonderful Hawaiian Christmas," "In Old Mexico," "Food!"). Nov 20, 2010

THANKSGIVING/TURKEYS 1147: Here's our Thanksgiving show for 2011...a dozen songs inspired by the holiday, plus some **real** turkeys - some of the worst songs in all the Demento Archives! This show also has a very special treat -- a Tom Lehrer performance recorded for his "Evening Wasted with Tom Lehrer" album in 1959, but left off that album and never heard since then, until now! (Note 1: for a different group of Thanksgiving songs, including Stan Freberg and Arlo Guthrie classics, check out our show dated 11-20-10. Note 2: one new song in this show has lots of Bad Words. This is a special show for "Weird Al" Yankovic fans...along with his latest song "You're Pitiful" (which had to be dropped from his forthcoming album for legal reasons) we'll hear, in its entirety as he recorded it in 1976 at age 16, the first Alfred Yankovic song ever played on the air, "Belvedere Cruisin'." The latter is part of a full hour of songs that were big on the Dr Demento show in the year 1976, including "Stardrek," "Disco Tech" and "Junk Food Junkie." Jun 25, 2006

TOBACCO 0818: The topic this week is tobacco. It smells bad, and there's a lot of evidence that it's bad for us...but some of us love it, a lot more of us seem to need it, and there are a whole lot of funny songs and comedy bits about tobacco. We'll smoke some of the best ones on this show. **We're starting a new feature with this show...from now on each Dr. Demento Show available for streaming at www.drdemento.com will contain a BONUS SEGMENT -- 10 minutes or more of songs that are **not** included on this week's radio show. These bonus segments will feature some of our most requested, hardest-to-find songs from waaay back in the Demento Archives.** May 4, 2008
